Submitting NASSS Abstracts

Abstract submissions for the 2024 Conference will go through the CVent system

Abstracts must be submitted by July 29th, 2024.

Directions for Submitting Abstracts

  • Log into CVent, using the link below.
  • There, you’ll be prompted to create an account and guided through the abstract submission process. Please note the following key pieces of information as you engage in this process
    • When you click the link below, you’ll arrive at a CVent log in screen. If you don’t already have a CVent account, please click “Need to create an account?” and you’ll be guided through the process of doing so. Please note that several of the fields in “Enter the author’s details” are optional. Please submit these data only if you want them shared with conference attendees.
    • Under “Presentation type,” you will see three options: “in-person presentation”; “virtual/hybrid presentation”; “poster presentation.” If all presenters will be attending the conference in person, please select “in-person presentation” (or “poster presentation, if appropriate”). If any presenter will be attending virtually, please select “virtual/hybrid presentation.” If you are submitting an abstract for a virtual/hybrid presentation, you must submit to a topic with an asterisk at the end of the topic title. You will find this asterisk both on the abstract management platform and the “NASSS 2024 Thematic Sessions” document (on this page) with session titles/descriptions.
    • Each session is a “topic” on the submission platform. You will only be able to submit an abstract to a single topic, at which point your submission will be routed to the relevant organizer(s). From the drop-down menu, please choose the topic that is the best fit for your specific submission. If you cannot find a topic with which your abstract fits, you may submit to “open session” and we will curate sessions from the abstracts submitted to this topic. The list of topics is available here: NASSS 2024 Thematic Sessions
    •  Please note that there is only one poster session topic: “Sport Anthropology Caucus IV: Student Research in Ethical Spaces.” You’ll find further detail about this session in the attached document.
  • In “Step 3,” once you have reviewed your submission information and are satisfied with it, please click the “submit” button highlighted in yellow.
  • You will know that your submission was successful when you see a confirmation with your unique submission confirmation number. You will also receive a confirmation email.

Thank you all for your contributions to the conference and the association!
